Dr. Kunkel also performs cancer and trauma reconstruction surgery. His specialty is treating children and adults with cleft lips and palates as well as craniosynostosis. He is an expert in complex reconstructions of the face, in both adults and children, resulting from congenital, post-traumatic, or cancer deformities.
Dr. Kunkel’s passion is performing plastic surgery in third world countries and locations where access to health care is difficult to find. He has been on medical mission trips around the world including Bangladesh, Vietnam, and Peru.
In 2020, Dr. Kunkel started his own non-profit, Kunkel Global Surgeries, to continue to serve those in need worldwide.
